Scotland: The Beauty of the Western Highlands from a Train

If you want to see beautiful country, take a train.  It doesn’t matter if you’re traveling Scotland, the U.S. or Bulgaria – give it a go.

I’d have given a kidney for another week in Scotland just to hop on and off the train traveling through the Western Highlands.  The vast wilderness and mind-boggling views along the way were enough to make me wish I’d sold all of my belongings before leaving home so I could have fed that desire.

I won’t wax poetic, especially if you read my cell phone post from this part of the trip, but I will tell you this: if you ever find yourself in old Alba (aka: Scotland), take a train.

I’d apologize for the glare on some of these, but hey, I was in a train!

I forgot you were on a train, they are so earth grounding. How small one feels when you stand in front of such earth beauty. If only we could just stop and stay in the moment and not have to work for food. Know you are blessed to have had this moment in time that many of us will never get to experience. What a wonderful scenic country and the local population sound like they were very happy to show you their world. Awesome experience
